In 2024, Apple TV+ released the highly anticipated second season of Pachinko, adapted from the acclaimed novel by Min Jin Lee. The series traces the journey of a Korean family immigrating to Japan and the generations that follow—an epic story brought to life through breathtaking performances by Lee Min-ho, Kim Min-ha, and a remarkable ensemble cast.
Building on the success of Season One in 2022, Pachinko has become a fan favourite for its poignant storytelling, historical depth, and vivid portrayal of Japan across the ages.
For Season Two, Syn worked closely with Music Supervisor Michael Hill, licensing tracks from our Made In Japan catalogue. Vintage Jazz and City Pop–inspired songs performed by Norico, Makoto Sakurada, and Nick Wood were carefully selected and produced by Syn Tokyo’s team, who paid meticulous attention to stylistic detail and production techniques to ensure cultural authenticity. These tracks contributed to the show’s celebrated richness and precision.
In addition to music licensing, Syn Tokyo also provided ADR services, welcoming members of the cast into our Harajuku studio to record dialogue - further deepening our connection to this acclaimed global series.
