For Expo 2025 Osaka, Syn was commissioned by TOW and Asahi to compose an original piece of music that embodied the spirit of togetherness. The result was “Kanpai Smile Baton” — an anthem inspired by the universal joy of raising a glass in celebration.
Written by Nick Wood, the song carried voices from around the world. Participants were invited to share their own greetings in the Asahi booth — “cheers” or “kanpai” — each recording becoming part of the evolving arrangement. Layered into the composition, these voices transformed the track into a living chorus of unity. Vocalists Ryohei Yamamoto and Momonady brought the melody to life, weaving warmth, optimism, and authenticity into the performance. Together, the music and voices created more than a song — it became a moment of shared humanity, echoing Asahi’s vision for connection across borders.
At Expo 2025, Kanpai Smile Baton lifted glasses, spirits, and smiles — a reminder that wherever we gather, music can turn celebration into legacy.
