Akaku Takashi

Syn’s Chief Engineer and Audio Director, Takashi Akaku, has been working with Syn for over 20-years and is based in Tokyo, where he oversees the Syn studio’s post-production output.

Starting his career as a live engineer in live music venues across Tokyo, Akaku now focuses on mixing, mastering, voiceover and ADR for Syn clients in film, TV, gaming and branded content.Hosting some of Japan and Hollywood’s most prominent directors and actors in the studio (including Martin Scorsese for ‘Silence’), Akaku’s technical expertise and reassuring nature places clients and partners alike at ease in the vocal booth. He has recorded the likes of Ken Watanabe and Ansel Elgort, as well as musicians including Chai, Simon Le Bon and Robert Palmer.

When needing to rest his ears after a long day in the studio, Akaku enjoys a long walk and a cold beer.
