U.S. Country Manager Derek McNeill is based in Los Angeles.
A graduate of The University of Southern California, Derek cut his teeth at KSCR, the university’s college radio outfit, and was later instrumental in the establishment of ‘DubLab’ in 1999, the much-loved non-profit internet radio station based in Los Angeles.
His career has led him from college radio, through the early ringtone companies of the mobile revolution, to music licensing and music content sourcing.
At Syn, Derek has produced projects for Apple’s Switchers Campaign (2021) for Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Brazil with TBWAMedia Arts Lab, as well as establishing Syn’s US Music Curation service, working with the likes of Maybourne Beverly Hills and The Fairmont Miramar.
An instrumental player in actioning new initiatives at Syn, Derek’s ability to collaborate across borders and cultures is testament to his experience in the music industry.
Most recently, Derek has successfully cleared ‘’Eye Of The Tiger’ by Survivor for a global Tiger Beer campaign.
When not digging for vinyl or programming his radio show on DubLab, Damage Control, Derek enjoys spending time with friends and family, preferably over tacos.
